Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak has been named America’s favorite mountain, and it’s easy to see why. Accessible both by car and cog wheel railway, its easy for even flatlanders to get up to the top of the 14,000-plus foot mountain and enjoy the views in every direction.

To the east we can look back at Colorado Springs and out towards Kansas. To the south we can see the town of Cripple Creek, which was almost the capital of Colorado. If we look to the west, we can see the Collegiate Peaks over 60 miles away. And on clear days we can even see Denver to the north.

Here are a few photos that show the beauty and incredible views you can get from the top of Pikes Peak.
