Overshadowed by bigger cities along Interstate 25 in Colorado, Trinidad is a lovely little town just north of the border with New Mexico. Founded in 1879, the town sits on the historic Santa Fe Trail and is was an important stop on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe’s Raton Pass route, home to the Super Chief and other majestic passenger trains.
Today the town continues with an amazing art community and some of the best views of the Sanger de Cristo Mountains.
