Valley in the San Juan Mountains

$39.99

The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad was built in 1880 as part of the Denver and Rio Grande Western’s San Juan Extension narrow gauge line. The line we’re traveling on today connected with the main line in Alamosa and traveled across Cumbres Pass to Chama and then over to Durango with branch lines stretching to Silverton, Colorado; Farmington, New Mexico; and many other mining and logging towns in the area.

Today we’re making the same trek someone in that time would have to make to go from west of the San Juan Mountains to Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver and points beyond.
