The Albuquerque Basin is an important geological feature in New Mexico. It’s home to the Rio Grande River, one of a few sources of water in this area. There are indications of settlements in this area as far back as 12,000 years ago.
Here from the top of the Sandia Mountains we can see all the way across the basin to the Santa Rosa mountains over 50 miles away.
